'Droit de Suite' Debate

On both sides of the Atlantic the issue of artists' resale rights have jumped into conversation again. As of the start of 2012 the U.K which in 2006 adopted a resale royalty law for living artists in 2006, expaned that law so it applies to artists deceased 70 years or less. Dealers and autioneers are going to be closely watching the effect it has on sales in the year to come, expetically since the new application will apply to far more sales which also are likely to be of higher average value.

Jussi Pylkkänen president Chistie's Europe said "extension of the artists'  resale right to deceased European artist's."
